About the Designer
The founder of Sunspel apparel, Thomas Hill, was not only one of the great early British industrialists but also a fabric innovator. Hill’s original factory utilized his textile expertise to make breathable clothing in extra-fine cotton, and pioneered the development of luxury undergarments. Some of the earliest Sunspel clothing included tunics and undershirts, which were among the world’s first T-shirts. Hill’s legacy lives on through the Sunspel philosophy to create practical, everyday clothing from premium fabrics.
