Founded by Alex Begg in 1869 in Paisley, Scotland, Begg & Co. brought together skilled weavers and finishers to create hand-woven shawls. The company found success and soon expanded into scarves and other accessories. The continued growth prompted Begg & Co. to relocate to the seaside town of Ayr, where they are today, advancing and developing their weaving equipment and techniques.
