Hamilton Carhartt launched his namesake brand in Detroit in 1889, and the brand has produced comfortable, rugged workwear ever since. 100 years after its founding, that legacy led Swiss importer, Edwin Faeh, to begin importing the brand. Under Faeh’s lead, Work In Progress (WIP) was born, and in 1997, Carhartt WIP released its first collection of classic pieces modified and refitted to suit contemporary styles. The hardworking reputation Carhartt earned over the past century remains intact, and Carhartt WIP has stylishly ushered it into modern life.
