About the Designer
Joe and Rick Lotuff, the founders of Lotuff Leather, come from a family with a strong understanding of New England craftsmanship. Their father and grandfather taught them that exceptional products often take a few extra minutes, hours, or days to produce, and because of that, in the Lotuff factory, the focus isn’t on a quota. Excellent briefcase.
The bag is made a soft tumbled vegetable tanned leather. It is unlined, which I prefer but some may not. The quality of the cutting, edge finishing and stitching is excellent - you will not find much better at several times the price. It is a slim bag due to the wrap-around straps that can hold it in a somewhat collapsed state if it isn't full. This design is secure but it is not possible to access the rear pocket without unbuckling the bag. There are plenty of small pockets, including a full length zipped one, inside.
In the end I returned the bag because I was not happy with the colour - but that was my own issue (and I would add, east Dane make returning easy). I would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a very high quality briefcase.
